On the occasion of World Environment Day 2006, Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps organized an event on 5th June 2006 at VUDA Children’s Theatre, Visakhapatnam.
Sri. Nagulapalli Srikanth, Municipal Commissioner, Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation has attended the programme as a Chief Guest.

The young students participated in the month long eco-summer camps organized by Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps have expressed their concern on environmental issues through dance, music and other art forms.

Ms.Sita, Superintendent of District Bala Bhavan and Sri Gali Udaya Kumar, Project Officer of Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps have coordinated the programme.

Representatives of Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board, Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps, Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation and other Self Help Group members participating in the Green Run organized on the occasion of World Environment Day 2006. The Green Run was flagged off by Sri. Nagulapalli Srikanth, Municipal Commissioner, Greater Visakha Municipal Corporation office

Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps organized a competition for youth below 18 years of age to design, develop innovative useful products/articles from household waste like plastics, polythene covers, old cloths or any other material that is not in use. As per the rules of the competition the candidates provided the information about the raw material used and the total expenditure involved in making the product. Selected products were displayed at a function organized on the occasion of World Environment Day on 5th June 2006. Prizes were given away to the best eight entries by Gali Udaya Kumar, Project Officer, Andhra Pradesh National Green Corps.
