As part of awareness and education initiatives in Maharashtra state CPREEC organized a series of Training Workshops for the benefit of Teacher trainees in and around Nagpur city from 16 February to 20 February 2009 in collaboration with the Consumer Education Society. Around 1000 B.Ed and D.Ed students participated in the Environment Education workshops. The current topics such as Biodiversity conservation, Climate change mitigation, Sustainable development were some of the topics covered during the workshop by the experts. C.P.R. Environmental Education Centre is a Centre of Excellence of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, Government of India, established jointly by the Ministry and the C.P. R Foundation, Chennai. CPREEC has been set up to increase consciousness and knowledge about environment and the major environmental problems facing the country today.
